How many times does a person need to restart a website? Seriously, is there a count you hit before you finally stop redoing them? Maybe a prize for most well intentioned but still abandoned sites? I swear between two email addresses I’m up to 6 or more WordPress blogs.
But I’m not here to gripe. I ask those questions somewhat facetiously if only because the previous blogs/websites I had were for pure fun. A food blog as I was inspired by discovering the paleo lifestyle and ancestral health. A blog for my feelings as a late teen, early adolescent. A nerdy bride blog when I was a nerdy bride. They were moments in my life, and I wrote to express them.
Wrote. Writing. The undercurrent to everything I’ve done up to this point.
This bad boy? Oh ho ho, this one is my JOB. That feels nice to say. Writing–being an author–is my job. It’s wonderful! I have an incredible opportunity to make this happen, and I’m grabbing it.
So let’s start this journey on a high note!
Good company in a journey makes the way seem shorter. — Izaak Walton
I feel you there, WordPress. I’ll keep your stand in post. I like it. The last nearly two years seem to have flown. So much has happened since I started streaming on July 1, 2017. The Twitch stream has grown in amazing, previously unpredictable ways, my writing career is about to officially launch, and there are people in my life who are true, positive forces.
Now I’m staring down a few deadlines as I approach the release date for my debut novel! Sooner than I know it there will be links to pre-sales and handing out copies to people for reviews. Maybe even giveaways of the book! It’s a lot to think about, but as I hit deadlines, everything will happen as it needs to. There are fellow indie authors in my corner to walk me through it, and I would be remiss not to recognize that, hopefully not selfishly, I had a big hand in my own progress as well. Nobody wrote the books and short stories for me. I had to do that.
No excuses. Dedicate yourself. Set goals and work towards them. That’s been my life for the last two years, and the feeling has been even stronger in the last six months. I’m done waiting. Now I’m doing.
Dual Nature (Principles of Magic book 1) will release on August 5th, 2019! Ready or not, here we come!
(Here’s to you, little Brenna. We’re finally doing it!)
